With the recent suspension of public Masses (for two months!), our regular flow of donations to our parish was impacted.
Simple reasoning - with parishioners unable to attend in person, donations to our parish decreased. Today, we ask you to please consider catching up on missed donations, or simply resuming your regular financial donation to our parish community. Even with the suspension of public Masses, our parish community continued to face daily operating obligations for utilities, insurance, taxes, wages, and essential maintenance of the churches. There are four different ways that you can donate to make it easy for you: 1) Sunday Envelope: Use them at church, or mail a cheque, or post-dated cheques to the parish office. 2) Pre-Authorized Withdrawal: You set the amount and frequency - ask us for a form and attach a void cheque. 3) Online Giving: On our website through CanadaHelps - www.holynamestalphonsus.com/donate 4) E-Transfer: Send your donation to our email address - [email protected]- include your name and where funds should be allocated (Holy Name of Jesus or St. Alphonsus Liguori) A reminder that if any gifting imposes a level of hardship of any kind, please do not donate.
BUILDING FUND Donations to our Building Fund help keep up regular and unexpected costs associated with our building. For example in the last week, at Holy Name of Jesus - these unexpected repairs took place: - Air Conditioning Unit sprang a leak and needed new pipes and filters installed. - the Hot Water tank in the men’s washroom cracked and flooded the washroom, causing extensive clean up, repairs and replacement of the tank. Thank you to Bob Page, Roy Malette, David Briggs, Matt Irwin, Alan Coffin and Bill Silver who helped with clean up and repairs. WILLS & BEQUESTS Recently, St. Alphonsus Liguori Church received a donation left by a parishioner in their will. We are grateful for this donation left in their memory. A donation or bequest in a Will is a deferred gift and serves as an acknowledgement of your returning to God a portion of the gifts He has given you during your lifetime. Bequests have a significant favourable impact on your final tax return. You can also designate in your Will that your Canada Pension Plan Death Benefit be left to the parish.
