PRAYER OF ST. MICHAEL TO BE PRAYED AT THE END OF MASS
Beginning this weekend, days before the Feast Day of St. Michael the Archangel, our parish community will begin to pray the Prayer of St. Michael at the end of all our Sunday and Weekday Masses.
Looking around the world, and perhaps even in our own lives - it is not difficult to notice the work of evil that is present around us. As Catholics, we have a duty to pray for our own protection from evil, and for the protection of our parish, city, country and world.
The prayer is a powerful weapon against the work of Satan who “prowls about the world seeking the ruin of souls.” We cannot be afraid to ask for the help of St. Michael - the leader of all the angels - to help us each time we pray to defeat the power of the devil and his evil spirits around us. Let our communal prayer aid us in keeping us free from harm! THE PRAYER OF ST. MICHAEL St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
