Dear brother priests,

Situations and needs of the diocese have evolved significantly in recent years. In order to meet the current needs of our parishes, we must reassign a number of priests, as follows:
 

Fr. Anthony Man-Son-Hing, currently Pastor Our Lady of Fatima, Elliot Lake Ste-Marie, Elliot Lake Ste-Famille, Blind River, is appointed Pastor of Ste-Bernadette, Elliot Lake, effective June 3, 2019.

Fr. Annadurai Subramani (Lourdu), SMA, currently Parish Administrator St. James the Greater, Blind River Blessed Kateri, Blind River St. Ambrose, Thessalon is appointed Parish Administrator St. James the Greater, Blind River Blessed Kateri, Blind River St. Ambrose, Thessalon Ste-Famille, Blind River effective June 8, 2019.

Fr. Roch Martin, currently Pastor St-Joseph, Chelmsford is appointed Pastor St-Jean-de-Brébeuf, Sudbury effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Constantin Kazadi, currently Pastor St-Jacques, Hanmer is appointed Pastor St-Joseph, Chelmsford, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Basile Agré, currently Parish Administrator Sacré-Coeur, Sturgeon Falls Ste-Thérèse d'Avila, Cache Bay is appointed Parish Administrator St-Jacques, Hanmer, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Jean Legault, currently Pastor St-Jean-Baptiste, Verner N.D.-de-la-Visitation, Lavigne Ste-Rose-de-Lima, River Valley N.D.-des-Victoires, Field is appointed Pastor Sacré-Cæur, Sturgeon Falls Ste-Thérèse-d'Avila, Cache Bay, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Emmanuel Zinsu, SMA, currently Assistant Pastor Precious Blood Cathedral, SSM, is appointed Parish Administrator St-Jean-Baptiste, Verner N.D.-de-la-Visitation, Lavigne Ste-Rose-de-Lima, River Valley N.D.-des-Victoires, Field, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Celestine Agwu, SMMM, currently Parish Administrator St. Paul the Apostle, Coniston is appointed Parish Administrator N.D.-de-la-Merci, Coniston and St. Paul the Apostle, Coniston, effective Oct. 1, 2019.

Fr. Guy Albert, currently Pastor St-Dominique, Sudbury is appointed Pastor St-Dominique, Sudbury (Parish expanded to include territory of L’Annonciation) effective August 1, 2019.   Note: Fr. Guy will remain Pastor of N.D.-de-la-Merci, Coniston until Oct. 1, 2019

Fr. Samuel D'Angelo, C.PP.S., currently Pastor St. Andrew the Apostle, Sudbury is appointed Pastor Holy Redeemer, Sudbury and St. Bonaventure, Killarney, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Denis Vaiz, currently Assistant Pastor Holy Redeemer, Sudbury is appointed Parish Administrator St. Andrew the Apostle, Sudbury, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Rex Lumine, currently Temporary Parish Administrator Christ the King, Sudbury returns as Assistant Pastor Pro-Cathedral, North Bay effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Clarence Dinesh Narendra, from India, is appointed Assistant Pastor Precious Blood Cathedral, SSM, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Charles Ngozi Abiamiri, SMMM, from Nigeria, is appointed Assistant Pastor Holy Redeemer, Sudbury and St. Bonaventure, Killarney, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Raymond Akor, currently Parish Administrator St. Jude Parish, Espanola and St. Sébastien, Spanish, is appointed Parish Administrator Christ the King Parish, Sudbury, effective August 1, 2019.

Fr. Robert Mugisha, from Burundi, is appointed Parish Administrator St. Jude Parish, Espanola and St. Sébastien, Spanish, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Msgr. Jean-Paul Jolicoeur, PH, currently Pastor St-Jean-de-Brébeuf, Sudbury, retires from active ministry while remaining the Vicar General for the Diocese, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Fr. Peter Moher, currently Pastor Holy Redeemeer, Sudbury and St. Bonaventure, Killarney retires from active ministry, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

I sincerely thank all the priests who have generously accepted these changes.

I welcome priests who arrive in our diocese to join our pastoral team. I also offer my sincere thanks and best wishes to the priests who will take a well-deserved retirement.
