Beginning the First Sunday of Advent (November 30/December 1) our Church begins a new Liturgical Year. For this new year, we will be making a change to the music being played during the Mass.
You will hear new versions of the “Mass Parts” which include the Gloria, Alleluia, Holy Holy and the Lamb of God.
Why? Our current “Mass Parts” were learned in 2011 with the institution of the new Roman Missal. This change will also bring unity to our Music Teams at both Holy Name of Jesus and St. Alphonsus Liguori, so we will be able to share more resources with one another.
What is the new music like? The new Mass Settings we will be using is called the “Mass of Restoration” composed by Josh Blakesley. Our music team will be teaching or refreshing these parts over the next few weeks.
Can I find it online? You can listen to the new parts of the Mass for yourself on YouTube by clicking here.
We thank you for your cooperation as our Liturgy Committee continues to pray about improving our worship as a community.
